Anger, Loss & What To Do With It
Feeling angry 😠🤬about having lost someone or something meaningful to you??? It makes sense that you would. Who wouldn’t experience frustration & anger on some level?? 🤷🏽♀️
Experiencing Anger is a normal part of the journey when practicing to heal from loss. Your anger may feel endless & scary. However, it might be bring clarity to consider ways Anger helps to create structure to the emptiness created by grief. Think about the fog mentioned in previous post on “Shock/Denial,” and ways Anger might create something to hang onto, in the midst of fog 🌫… if you’re angry at someone.. the world… your higher power… After all, at least this structure of anger is something, rather than nothingness, right??
In the beginning, experiencing Anger may feel like an anchor. While this anchor may help to keep us in place for some time… too much time spent here may began to sink us🌊… cutting us of from others, and further away from our true-selves. To avoid sinking, you may practice to acknowledge the magnitude of your anger, to gain awareness on the extent of self-care required for your healing ❤️🩹 journey.
As Anger recedes, room is made for many other emotions you will also experience… which also deserves attention.
For increased awareness you may ask yourself:
What am I TRULY angry about? Are there HURTS CONNECTED to my anger?
Where do I experience this anger IN MY BODY💆🏼?
How can I CARE for this area of my body?
What are ways I might bring PIECES of PEACE ☮️ to my anger or hurt?
When I am angry what is something I can do to REDUCE THE INTENSITY (that won’t bring harm to myself and others)?🌱
As you begin to acknowledge your core truths, you may practice to separate who you are, from what you feel by affirming:
“I FEEL angry,” rather than “I AM angry.”
“At my core I am light 🔆. I will feel a gradual increase of my light once again as I practice to apply healing to each experience which is currently blocking my light.” 🌱 💫
